Before & Afters
Ready For Bed
This attic space was lovely but had become a dumping ground for all things unused. After a few hours of sorting, a few posts on Craigslist, and the space was cleared out and ready for a new life as a bedroom.

Where Did We Park?
A two-car garage that needed some serious help… to find the second car! There’s a 1972 MG in the before picture if you can believe it. 🙂
The car was sold and needed all its various parts found and prepped for pick up. In the process, we also purged and prepared bags and boxes for donation as well as for the dump.

Bring It On Home
This finished basement room was a dumping ground that was never used. A few hours of sorting, boxing up, and purging created a jam space and rec room for the family.

10 Minute Makeover
Sometimes one messy drawer is all it takes to put the kibosh on the best-made plans and my plans had been put off long enough. It was time to face the cords.
Dumped out and untangled the cords were re-bundled, given elastic bands, and sorted into smaller bins with other like-minded cords. Ta-dah! Ten minutes of work and I can find any cable I need in a flash.
And now I write a blog post about it…

A Clean Slate
These posts (as well as the ceiling and beams) had been left unfinished for 22 years and had developed a patina, picked up some paint splatters, suffered some water damage. A good sanding revealed a clean wooden slate.

A New Coat
The ceiling has been sanded and the first of four coats of water based varnish has been applied. It’s starting to look warm and cozy in here.

Feels Like Home
This ceiling was left unfinished for twenty-two years. Many pieces of sandpaper and a couple of gallons of varnish later and the room is glowing with a warm, cozy, inviting feeling. It is definitely time for a house warming party.
